STARting to build evidence of systemic effects

2013 EENP Forum

Day 2: Sept 23, 2013 • 2:30pm-4:30pm • Ballard Hall Large Conference Room

By Richard Gelb, King County; Aaron Lande, Star Communities

Aaron Lande and Richard Gelb invite you to preview the STAR Community Rating System before attending their session on this framework. The STAR Community Rating System is the nation’s first voluntary, self-reporting framework for evaluating, quantifying, and improving the livability and sustainability of U.S. communities. The rating system provides communities with a framework for sustainability encompassing the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of community. The rating system is built on a framework of sustainability goals, objectives, and evaluation measures. Local leaders can set goals and measure progress across sustainability themes.
