Finding Common Ground: Supporting Sustainability Students and Educators

2013 EENP Forum

Day 3: Sept 24, 2013 • 1:00pm-2:15pm • Great Hall

By Kathleen Gygi

Students and educators are part of the larger evaluation family. Participants in this informal capacity building session will identify, understand, and address common challenges and opportunities in learning and doing applied research and evaluation in sustainability fields. An example is having to integrate across multiple disciplines, i.e., finding “common ground.”

Dr. Gygi teaches research design in Marylhurst University’s accelerated online sustainability MBA program. She has over 25 years of professional experience supporting policymakers and decision makers in the public and private sectors. She recently worked for a Portland-based consulting firm as an evaluator of energy efficiency programs and currently is a volunteer consultant for Visitor and Evaluation Studies at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.
