1st Forum of Environmental Evaluation
in Latin America
The Environmental Evaluators Network (EEN) invites governmental agencies, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, funding agencies, consultants and the general public to its 1st Forum of Environmental Evaluation in Latin America to be held in Xalapa City, Veracruz, Mexico on July 12th 2012. The forum will take place during the 2nd International Congress on Public Policy Evaluation (11th -13th of July 2012), which is hosted by the Colegio de Veracruz, the Mexican Association of Professionals in Evaluation and the Institute of Ecology, AC.
There is a clear demand to improve the technical evaluation capacities of several sectors. The forum provides a great opportunity for networking between decision makers and users that can contribute to the development and consolidation of methodological frameworks and evaluation criteria. Audiences interested in environmental evaluation are encouraged to attend. Through presentations and discussion in interdisciplinary groups, challenges and advances in the field of environmental evaluation in Mexico and Latin America will be addressed. The field of environmental evaluation is relatively young and must grow to meet the needs of the societies it serves. The Latin American EEN forum (LAEEN) creates an open space for evaluators and users of evaluation to advance the practice and theory of environmental evaluation through more systematic and collective learning.
